Project Lifesaver

A PROGRAM, NOT A PRODUCT
Project Lifesaver is more than wearable locating technology; it’s a program comprised of components specifically designed to protect “at risk” individuals such as Alzheimer’s patients or children with down syndrome or autism who are prone to wandering.

Project Lifesaver relies on pulse-carrier wave radio-frequency technology, complimented by a search and rescue team that has received special training.  People who use the services wear a personalized one-ounce wristband that emits a constant tracking signal.  When caregivers notify the local Project Lifesaver agency that the person is missing, a search and rescue team responds to the wanderer’s area and starts searching with the mobile locator tracking system. Search and rescue times have been reduced from hours and days to minutes.  Since the program was introduced Project lifesaver has successfully rescued 2,500 individuals.

To participate in our Project Lifesaver program, we would request up to a $25 monthly donation or a $300 donation for a year of service.

Since 2006, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office been a member of the Project Lifesaver community to offer our residents the most widely used and proven most effective SAR program designed for “at risk” populations.  Project Lifesaver bridges the gap between first responders and their communities. Relationships are formed, and trust is built.  Project Lifesaver reduces the time, funds, and manpower needed for search and rescue missions involving a special needs individual.

The service can be suspended or discontinued at any time.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office will come to your home, provide the tracking bracelet and even change the batteries as needed. If you’d like to remove your loved one from the program simply contact us.

Financial assistance may be available, if you are interested in Project Lifesaver or if you any questions, please contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 540–635-4128 and we will be happy to assist you!
