PRESS RELEASE – LINDEN MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION

Warren County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Linden Man Following Child Pornography Investigation

In March of 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA) Police to execute a search warrant at the residence of John P. Farley Jr., a 70-year-old male, in the 900 block of Northern Spy Drive in Linden.

During the course of the ensuing investigation, several electronic devices were seized from Farley Jr.’s home office. These devices were turned over to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensics Unit for processing, and a total of 68 items were flagged as potential Child Pornography.

The digital evidence was reviewed by WCSO Investigator Hajduk, and it was determined that 16 of the items met the requirements of the Code of Virginia to place charges. On 05/25/2023, John P. Farley Jr. was arrested at his residence and charged with 16 counts of violating Virginia Code § 18.2–374.1:1 (Possession, Reproduction, Distribution, Solicitation, and Facilitation of Child Pornography).

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the NOVA/DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, coordinated by the Virginia State Police. The facts of this incident serve to highlight the importance of multi-jurisdictional investigations like this one, and we are grateful for the assistance of MWAA Police and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office as we worked to identify and capture this child predator in our community. Anyone with information regarding the solicitation and/or exploitation of minors is encouraged to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this case can contact Investigator Hajduk at (540) 635‑7100 ext. 2223 or khajduk@warrencountysheriff.org
