The Warren County Sheriff’s Office along with Valley Health, will be participating in the DEA National Drug Take Back Day. Drug Take Back Day is usually held in the spring and autumn each year for those municipalities who wish to participate in providing a safe, convenient and anonymous means of disposing of prescription drugs. Citizens who wish to get rid of their unused, expired or unwanted medications are encouraged to drop them off as they drive into the collection site where agency representatives will receive them. Should you have any questions, contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 540–635‑4128.
Visit takebackday.dea.gov or DEAtakeback.com for more information and to find a collection site near you.
If you unable to make this date and have unwanted prescriptions that need to be disposed of you can call your local pharmacy to see if they will accept them. If you only have a couple of unwanted prescriptions you may come to the Sheriff’s Office to pick up a free DETERRA drug deactivation system pouch from our lobby.
