Pub­lic Release — Cer­tifi­cate Pre­sent­ed for Accred­i­ta­tion and for Becom­ing a Cer­ti­fied Crime Pre­ven­tion Community

On July 11, 2023, at the War­ren Coun­ty Board of Super­vi­sors meet­ing Sher­iff Mark But­ler and the War­ren Coun­ty Sher­iffs Office were rec­og­nized and pre­sent­ed with cer­tifi­cates by the Depart­ment of Crim­i­nal Jus­tice Ser­vices for achiev­ing Accred­i­ta­tion through the Vir­ginia Law Enforce­ment Pro­fes­sion­al Stan­dards Com­mis­sion and for becom­ing a DCJS Cer­ti­fied Crime Pre­ven­tion Com­mu­ni­ty. This was no easy task obtain­ing either cer­ti­fi­ca­tion on their own and even more remark­able that both were obtained at the same time. This makes War­ren Coun­ty Sheriff’s Office apart of the 103 accred­it­ed law enforce­ment agen­cies and apart of the 12 Cer­ti­fied Crime Pre­ven­tion Com­mu­ni­ties in the Com­mon­wealth. Sher­iff But­ler could not be hap­pi­er with his staff and com­mu­ni­ty part­ners that helped make this happen.
