Citizens who wish to get rid of their unused, expired or unwanted medications are encouraged to drop them off as they drive into the collection site where agency representatives will receive them. Should you have any questions, contact the Warren County Sheriff's Office at 540-635‑4128.

Visit Take Back Day website for more information and to find a collection site near you.

If you unable to make this date and have unwanted prescriptions that need to be disposed of you can call your local pharmacy to see if they will accept them. If you only have a couple of unwanted prescriptions you may come to the Sheriff's Office to pick up a free DETERRA drug deactivation system pouch from our lobby. Sgt. Fritts and Valley Health's Pharmacist showcase the 125 pounds of medications turned in by citizens during this past Saturday's DEA National Drug Take Back Day which is held throughout the nation in April and October of each year. Warren County Sheriff's Office's partnership with Valley Health with this event enables citizens to discard their unwanted or unused medications which lessons the potential for these drugs getting in the wrong hands to be abused.
