Warren County, VA - On Friday, August 4, 2017 at 2:26am, The Warren County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle accident with a person trapped and the vehicle on fire in the area of the 800 block Lucke Way in the Linden area of Warren County. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and were not able to approach the vehicle due to the large amount of fire and extreme heat. Firefighters arrived within one minute of the Deputies arrival and extinguished the fire. The driver succumbed to the injuries sustained.

Investigators from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the vehicle was not involved in a motor vehicle crash and appeared stuck in a driveway in the 800 block of Lucke Way. The fire was determined to have started outside of the vehicle and spread to the engine and passenger compartments of the vehicle. Circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending appropriate notifications. Investigators received assistance from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
